• Operation Impact Kick-Off Event

    This event, took place on Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Smith Campus Center. The University-wide kick-off launched a new year of Operation Impact. The event covered the basics of the Pilot Funds and other portions of Operation Impact. The event is useful for networking to find other students with similar interests and innovative ideas.

    We are developing personalized books that solve problems for parents looking to create teachable moments on difficult topics and improve vocabulary retention, and solve problems for gift givers who want a gift that they know the kid they are buying for will love.

    The media experiment project aims to workshop digital surveys that explore these main research questions: how does this mural serve as an “interactive” map for storytelling and navigating narratives?

    Awardees collaborate with educators and their students to create culturally affirming literary, audio, & visual content and curriculum
  • T3alMENA

    Through storytelling and mentorship, awardees are connecting Arab youth with leaders they look up to by hearing relatable stories and receiving guidance in Arabic.
  • Arts in a Circle

    Awardee wants to design an affordable one-stop art education online platform for Chinese families. They plan to educate the public about the broad definition of art education and design a series of online courses for families with children aged 5-12.
  • HMS Arts and Humanities Initiative (AHI)

    The Arts and Humanities Initiative aims to foster creativity and scholarship in the arts and medical humanities at Harvard Medical School and its affiliated hospitals, to support a community of faculty and students engaged and interested in the arts and humanities, and to enhance patient care through reflection and compassion.

    thirdspace is an online journal dedicated to recording the unique experience of medical education. We give voice to an international community of writers and artists creatively exploring the challenges, rewards, and peculiarities of premedical and medical education, residency, and fellowship training. This journal seeks to transcend the strictures of personal and professional identities by providing a space for the unrepressed consideration of physicians in training as self-aware, complex human beings.

    STEAM Team is a student-led effort to ignite communications between disparate fields in research, business and industry. Our focus is broad, but our starting point is in uniting the Arts with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). We will collaborate to create learning opportunities for our STEAM Team members, HGSE, and our community.
  • GSD Kirkland Gallery

    A Student Run Alternative Space for student's work that is influenced by the conversations, dilemmas, and critical thinking inherent to contemporary design practice. Two adjoining rooms on the first floor of 40 Kirkland are dedicated to the exhibition of your work. All GSD students are invited to submit proposals for installations of any media or scale. Where else can you install a full scale wall section, project an independent film, and put on a performance art piece?
  • Harvard Visual China

    GSAS Harvard Visual China is dedicated to promoting Chinese and broader East Asian visual culture, including painting, architecture, film, photography, and design. The group hopes to facilitate more interactions among students who are interested in Chinese art and culture and to promote academic and educational discussions of traditional themes and contemporary development of Chinese visual culture. Specifically, we plan to engage in: Bi-weekly or monthly lecture series by invited scholars and artists; Topic-oriented salon/workshop for students of art history (theory) and design (practice) to interact and work together; Round-table/Conference-style presentations of graduate student research.
