    KidCollab attempts to aid students and teachers in dealing with collaborative projects in the classroom. They envision that this experience will take the form of a “quest,” in which students will work together to solve a problem.

    Kathryn Parker Boudett, Lecturer on Education, carefully structures the way students learn to collaborate with one another in her course, Data Wise: Using Data to Improve Teaching and Learning.
  • Difficult topics: Seeking and considering alternative viewpoints in the classroom

    Meira Levinson, Professor of Education, develops case studies about difficult questions in educational ethics—for example, grade inflation, charter schools, and policies that disproportionately impact low-income students of color—for A203 Educational Justice students to debate and discuss the ethical dimensions of educational practice and policy.
  • Teacher/learner dependency: A classroom culture of reciprocity

    Katherine K.  Merseth, Senior Lecturer on Education, creates a culture of reciprocity in her classroom where students and instructors are expected to both teach and learn.
  • Communicating course culture: Building on the syllabus

    Karen Brennan, Assistant Professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, designs her syllabus for T550: Designing for Learning by Creating to not only communicate the plan for the course, but to introduce students to the course culture.
  • Online learning models matrix

    Awardee will convene a group of faculty and staff to study and document the current range of online learning models and disseminate a matrix of findings that will inform pedagogical strategies and production activities.

    Using Virtual Machines to Track Collaborative Writing Assignments
  • Understanding the teaching brain

    Define core components of the "teaching brain"
  • Online analytic reading and writing tutorial dissemination and evaluation

    Awardees plan to use usage data and impact assessments to further develop their online tutorial on analytic reading and writing.
  • Cultivating communities of practice in graduate student teaching

    Awardee plans to develop a formal model of professional development for doctoral students who serve as teaching fellows.
