• Holographic Electricity Toolkit and Curriculum

  Awardee will use augmented reality (AR) technology to design tools that allow students to visualize invisible phenomena and support digitally mediated scientific inquiry and knowledge exchanges in makerspaces.

• MuRealities

  The media experiment project aims to workshop digital surveys that explore these main research questions: how does this mural serve as an “interactive” map for storytelling and navigating narratives?

• SLab 2.0

  With Advance Grant funding, Rehding established regular lab meetings to refine the goals of SLab 2.0, updated equipment in the lab to accommodate the increased usage of the space, designed a website to host a repository of digital projects and to highlight current student projects, and hosted masterclasses open to the Harvard community.

• Virtual reality narratives in foreign language pedagogy

  Awardees will engage foreign language students in cultural and linguistic immersion through virtual reality (VR) film narratives.

• Understanding the impact of using mechanistic concept mapping as a collaborative learning tool

  Awardee conducted a mixed-methods study in HMS course Homeostasis I.

• New gateway to STEM

  Awardees will install an interactive, touch-screen kiosk running interactive WorldWide Telescope Tours in the Science Center and analyze usage.

• Geospatial education at Harvard: A new course in mapping and spatial perspectives

  Awardees developed a new course on spatial reasoning, cartography, and geographic analysis.

• Language through the visual arts: An interdisciplinary partnership

  Awardees plan to develop innovative methodology and curricula to promote the use of visual art in language classes.

• Exploring community differences using spatial data

  Awardees plan to create a new course that teaches students in sociology to visualize and analyze spatial data.

• Enhancing learning through hands-on exploration in a dynamic cross-disciplinary geospatial web platform

  Awardees plan to further develop WorldMap’s functionalities (e.g., add discussion features) using existing staff at the Center of Geographic Analysis.

• The digital archive of Japan’s 2011 disasters as a teaching tool and laboratory course

  Awardees plan to further develop the Japan Digital Archive project and design a Fall 2013 lab course that capitalizes on the improved platform.

• HGSE Project Zero

  Project Zero produces knowledge material, symposia, workshops, and summer institutes to improve education in the arts, at all levels of learning.

• Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning

  By supporting experimentation, innovation, and evidence-based practices, the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning seeks to create transformational learning experiences for faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates in Harvard's Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

• Harvard Law School Library

  The mission of the Harvard Law School Library is to support the research and curricular needs of its faculty and students by providing a superb collection of legal materials and by offering the highest possible level of service. To the extent consistent with its mission, the Library supports the research needs of the greater Harvard community as well as scholars from outside the Harvard community requiring access to its unique collections.

• Harvard Center for Geographic Analysis (CGA)

  The Center for Geographic Analysis (CGA) supports geospatial research and teaching at Harvard University. The Center provides geographic information systems (GIS) solutions ranging from general cartography and mapping to spatial visualizations, web maps, and web services. By integrating spatial data with knowledge from multiple disciplines, CGA actively promotes the use of geographic information systems (GIS) in the Harvard curriculum. The Center's mission is to strengthen GIS infrastructure and services across the University.
