  • Operation Impact Kick-Off Event

    This event, took place on Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Smith Campus Center. The University-wide kick-off launched a new year of Operation Impact. The event covered the basics of the Pilot Funds and other portions of Operation Impact. The event is useful for networking to find other students with similar interests and innovative ideas.

  • Education Innovation Showcase

    The Harvard Initiative for Learning and Teaching (HILT) held its inaugural Education Innovation Showcase on Thursday, April 11 at the Harvard Innovation Labs. More than 100 people gathered to hear learn about 30 projects designed to enhance teaching and learning, sponsored by HILT. Read a synopsis of the event featured in The Harvard Gazette! 

  • Harvard Behavioral Insights Student Group (BISG) Chan Chapter

    The Harvard Behavioral Insights Student Group (BISG) Chan Chapter was founded in 2014 to bring together students who are interested in applying insights from behavioral economics, psychology, and related disciplines to improve public health. Recent literature has shed light on predictable biases in how we make decisions and identified important opportunities to positively influence our health behaviors–whether getting a flu shot, enrolling in health insurance, or eating a healthier diet. We work closely with the Behavioral Insights Student Group (BISG) housed at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Center for Public Leadership as well as the faculty-level Behavioral Insights Group (BIG).

  • Health Equity & Leadership (HEAL) Student Organization at Harvard Chan

    The Health Equity & Leadership (HEAL) Student Organization at Harvard Chan stemmed from the simple idea to bring together students and community members of different disciplines to address issues of health inequity in the United States. HEAL was formed in 2012 by a group of students who believed that there is a need for more partnerships between diverse communities and stakeholders to create innovative, effective solutions in addressing health inequities. Continuing this mission, HEAL is dedicated to generating discourse and action to resolve issues related to health inequities in the Boston and Cambridge communities. Through a series of workshops and presentations, HEAL aims to educate and empower students to address issues of inequity in health and well-being in their communities throughout their career. HEAL also hosts an annual conference which connects students with leaders from government, community-based organizations, and academia in order to facilitate discussion and encourage action aimed at addressing the issues of health inequity and racial injustice in our communities.

  • Harvard Chan Reel Epi Student Club

    The purpose of the organization is to provide a forum for exchange of epidemiologic themes and concepts as seen in film between Harvard Chan students and faculty across all departments. We choose to watch films that pertain to topics in epidemiology and public health and discuss how these topics fit in with concepts we learn in our courses and in the real world. The main objectives are:

  • Harvard STS Circles

    The STS Circle at Harvard is a group of doctoral students and recent PhDs who are interested in creating a space for interdisciplinary conversations about contemporary issues in science and technology that are relevant to people in fields such as anthropology, history of science, sociology, STS, law, government, public policy, and the natural sciences.

  • Alumni for Education

    H.A.Ed. is the Harvard Alumni community Special Interest Group focused on Education. It provides a forum for alumni from all schools, disciplines, and professions to share field expertise, research, and ideas. H.A.Ed. encourages engagement, cross-sector partnerships, professional exchanges, and mentorship opportunities for members of the Harvard alumni community. H.A.Ed. enables alumni to stay connected to world class scholars engaged in research and teaching at the University, and helps facilitate the transfer of the usable knowledge generated by the Academy into practice. H.A.Ed. empowers Harvard alumni to make a difference by bringing them together in both conversation and action. H.A.Ed welcomes students and the public to participate in special events.

  • HGSE Rural Educators Alliance

    We intend to create a space for students interested in rural education to discuss some of the challenges facing rural schools today and how we can utilize the tools provided to us through HGSE to be effective change makers in those spaces. Additionally, we will raise awareness throughout HGSE of the conversations around rural schools in order to ensure that all HGSE students have the knowledge of rural schools necessary in order to bring that into their future work.

  • Design Research Forum (DRF)

    The Design Research Forum is a space for students across the GSD to come together to discuss the intersection of research and design and to identify opportunities to collaborate within and across disciplines. In a rapidly changing and evolving world, design and research offer different perspectives and approaches to creating safe, just, and resilient societies. Research into evolving issues and trends can inform new tendencies in design, while design can challenge the findings and assumptions in contemporary research. This forum will support activities including discussion around relevant issues and trends, engagement with leading academics and practitioners, and review and reflection on proposed, ongoing, and recently completed research and projects. DRF is spearheaded by students in the Masters in Design Studies program and will seek to foster dialogue within and across concentrations and departments, thus enhancing the potential and value of the program for its 30th anniversary.

  • Global Health Education & Learning Incubator

    The Global Health Education and Learning Incubator at Harvard University inspires and supports innovative learning, teaching, and dialogue about cutting-edge, multidisciplinary global challenges. They foster and evaluate new pedagogical tools and instructional strategies that bridge disciplinary fields, educational spaces, and groups of learners through learning studios for workshops, piloting and testing programs, and the provision of the teaching library.
