Making “Inclass” into a campus-wide educational technology app store
Awardee: Gabriel Abrams (DCE)
Summary: Awardee will scale the availability of the SEAS educational technology (edtech) app store across the University.
Applications of pedagogical and administrative use were developed within Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) as Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) plug-ins for the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). Demand for the tools both within SEAS and across Harvard have increased over the years, which led to the development of “Inclass,” an edtech app store where instructors can download and install applications into Canvas course sites.
Gabriel Abrams, formerly an instructional technology fellow at SEAS will prepare the app store for campus-wide use with new servers and support for non-SEAS Canvas users, create a process for adding new applications, scale support and maintenance of “Inclass,” develop guides to explain pedagogical impact, and run outreach and training events.
